Editor Meg Krugel contacted me about redesigning the Oregon Education Association's member magazine, Today's OEA.
Requirements for the magazine redesign:
+ More consumer magazine and less newsletter
+ Less formulaic
+ Better organization of content
+ Livelier
+ More colorful
+ Approachable, surprising and not too edgy
+ Stronger photography
+ Increase typography palette
The redesign moved at a fast pace with only days to choose a library of typefaces, determine a color palette and define a grid system.
Today's OEA's content doesn't naturally allow for visuals so emphasis was made on using typography well to deliver information.
Response so far has been outstanding.
